The following is a running reverse-chronological resume of my “professional” life since graduating college, including all of the work, volunteer work, and exchange work.

Tilapia Culture, Kampala, Uganda     August 2012-Present

Publicist, Assistant tour manager (full time, temp)

  • Managed online publicity and promotion for music venue using Facebook and a venue blog
  • Booked venues, organized equipment and publicity for the Frank Znort Quartet on tour from Norway

PMKSFG-UG, Kazo, Uganda     May-August 2012

Volunteer Administrator (part time, temp)

  • Wrote and edited formal documents for PMK Save the Future Generation – Uganda including project proposals, letters, and flyers
  • Carried out surveys and compiled data using Excel
  • Educated organization staff in programs like Excel and Word
  • Carried out Ring Around Victoria fund raiser by cycling around Lake Victoria and donating funds raised to the organization

Transcriber, Uganda     March 2012

Transcriber (part time, temp)

  • Transcribed interviews for a London School of Economics masters student researching Ugandan social enterprise
  • Gained proficiency with F4 transcription software and transcription convention

D&D Metals, Broomfield, Colorado, USA     Dec 2011-Jan 2012

Assembler (full time, temp)

  • Working with tools and machinery to build, assemble, finish, and ship sheet metal products
  • Responsible for efficiently organizing and packaging metal products and keeping accurate inventory records

USFS, Moose Creek Ranger Station, Idaho, USA     Nov 2011

Seasonal volunteer with Selway-Bitterroot Foundation and USFS (full time, temp)

  • Received tutorials in trail construction including trail clearing, tool usage,  and tree removal
  • Completed 40 hours volunteering at the station building structures and performing other general maintenance
  • Interacted with visitors and land users regarding policies and recreation

Grape Harvester (full time, temp)

  • Picked grapes for two weeks on two vinyards
  • Learned grape harvesting practices and processes, wine making processes and French policies
  • Extensive interaction with French language and culture

Work Exchange, Braux, Cote-d’Or, France     Aug 2011-Sept 2011

Work Exchange Volunteer (part time, temp)

  • Worked on large scale organic vegetable farm in Braux in exchange for meals and boarding
  • Learned many organic farming skills and French farming policies, practiced French language, made many friends with hosts and fellow volunteers
